I’ve neglected my blog for too long, over two months. I realize that avid readers have been waiting with much anticipation wanting to know what is going on in my life, all two or three of you.

Well truth be told, life has proven to be quite busy over the past two months, hence no updates, no musings, nothing. December and January were quite busy for Faded Pictures, so busy I haven’t updated FadedPictures.com with December’s portfolio work. It’s on the todo list, trust me.

So today, I have a short break between projects and i thought I’d catch up with a little post. Things have proven so busy recently, I’ve actually even neglected the querying process — shame, shame on me.

But I’m getting back into the game, jumping back on the horse…thinking of other metaphors…nope, I’m done.

Truth be told, first i wanted to wait out the holiday’s, didn’t want to try querying around Christmas. Then when January arrived, I was pretty busy and I told myself I was waiting for my copyright certificate from the Library of Congress. That showed up two weeks ago in the mail, I’m out of excuses, I must now query again.

It is official, the Christmas tree is up, along with all our other decorations. We were not planning on decorating yesterday, it just kind of happened. We usually wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving to pull out the decorations, but something got into us and we went for it. So the garland is up, the tree is lit and the furniture is moved. It always seem like a challenge each year to figure out how we moved and arranged the furniture the year before. I think we’ve finally hit on a configuration we like.

The whole thing started when I said I wanted to go down and check out the Christmas tree at Fashion Island in Newport. We knew that would just make us sad if we didn’t have our tree up already, so Fashion Island got moved to this coming weekend and our tree went up yesterday along side our traditional media fare of Home Alone and The Santa Clause. I have to say, every year I look forward to that little Kevin McCallister foiling Marv and Harry’s plans to burglarize his house. He’s so smart for an eight-year-old.

I am proud to write that The Book is officially finished. We finished the final chapters last night. Tonight, or today rather, starts the next adventure of preparing query emails and letters for agents. I will update as I move forward and learn more.
