DanceSignUp.com was conceived one evening over a casual get-together. The idea was simple, create a web-based application that would allow competitions and studios to connect in a new way. Through this connection, we would make the process of competition registration, scheduling, and judging easier for everyone.

Since we don’t really dance ourselves, cause it would resemble something from the Peanuts, we partnered with several companies that do know about dancing so we could learn the ins-and-outs of the competition world.

With the dancing out of our systems and our software concept in mind, we set out armed with a relatively young web framework, Ruby on Rails, to create DanceSignUp.com.

We weren’t far into the development before our love for Ruby and Rails grew and has since become our de facto development language of choice.

We’re really excited about DanceSignUp.com and not just because it’s our flagship application. So even if your dancing resembles the Peanuts too, you can still check it out.
